Accredited Education
In 2020, our primary school in Burora, Uganda - Middle Cross Primary School - achieved accreditation from the Ministry of Education! Middle Cross was able to hire a fully licensed Head Teacher (Principal) and employs licensed instructors. In order to strengthen the community and the fiscal stability of the school, we are now able to accept applicants who are not experiencing economic hardship as paid students. Middle Cross pupils are receiving a quality education preparing them to graduate and enroll in secondary levels of schooling.
WorldHope.us employs 22 full-time staff including: teachers, dormitory matrons, administration staff, grounds security, cleaning crew, farming personnel, a nurse, social workers, and cooking staff!
Secondary School
Middle Cross students continue to recover from the devastating effects of losing two years of education during the COVID shutdown in Uganda. They continue to improve, learn, and are thriving at levels above other regional institutions. WorldHope.us is committed to partnering with all of our students in completing their education - they will not age out.
In the future, as funding permits, WorldHope.us plans to open a secondary school and vocational school on campus.
Right now when children in our program graduate primary school, boarding school is the only available option for their secondary schooling. In 2025, we have 17 students in one secondary school and 3 in another.
In the English schooling system, a prefect is a role of leadership. At one school, 3 of our students are serving as prefects. At another school with over 3,000 students, WorldHope.us sponsored child, Benard, is serving as the head prefect of the whole school!
Community Engagement
Farming God’s Way
WorldHope.us has more than 6 acres of farmland by the school. Using the resources through Farming God's Way, WorldHope.us equips the community with good land stewardship skills, organic high-yield modern farming methods, and is helping provide ongoing food security for the community. We had 15 families in the program in year 1 (for two growing seasons). We provide the land, education, and materials (including mulch, manure, seed, etc) on a demo farm to train the participants in a communal way of farming. The participants are granted the entire harvest when the season ends and can then take what they have learned and apply the methodology to their own home farming. This way of farming provides 5-10x higher yield, greater nutrition, and economic growth. We hope to have 15 new families each year.
Community Well Water Project
In 2011 there were two sources of water in the community. One was a dirty creek where people washed their clothes, motorcycles, and anything else. This creek was visited daily with Jerry Cans. The other source was a hillside spring. This water was cleaner, but -

Employing Local People
Middle Cross Primary School employs local or Indigenous leaders and staff.
In other service models missionaries usually serve a term, and the average length of service is less than 10 years. When they leave the succession plan often fails. Our staff knows the local area and understands the deepest needs of the community. Our indigenous leaders live with and are in a deep relationship with the community and are committed to the place they call home.

UPDATE 2025: WorldHope.us is ready to begin construction on the Health Clinic! We are so excited to bring this development to the community, but especially to our children who will now have access to 24/7 medical care under the supervision of a doctor and our wonderful full-time nurse! Our new facility will include office, lab, and clinical space for medical care, a ward for patients who need longer care or quarantine, and separate housing for the doctor and nurse.
Original Announcement:
Community Health Clinic Coming Soon:
In 2023, WorldHope.us hired a full-time staff nurse and sectioned off a tiny temporary health clinic for the children. There has been a significant health improvement for the children now that they can get immediate attention for all levels of concern.
In 2024 we are raising funds to open a Community Health Clinic to serve both Middle Cross Primary School and the local community! We are very excited about this project. WorldHope.us has purchased land adjacent to the school and is working on building plans and figuring out staffing. The District Minister of Health strongly supports WorldHope.us in this endeavor!
We are committed to seeing this project through, but we need your help! Before we hire staff, we need enough funds to support the health clinic for an extended period of time to ensure the long-term success of the clinic. Please join us in seeing this project become a reality for the people of Burora!
