Since a young child, I wanted to be a nurse. However, not just any kind of nurse. I wanted to be a missionary nurse in Africa. My dream has come true – I knew it would. Volunteering with WorldHope.us and the wonderful team at the Hiscom Orphanage & School in Burora, Uganda has been an amazing blessing. What love, passion, and devotion each one has for God’s children.

I provide leadership and advice to the staff and leaders at the orphanage to help diminish the spread of disease and improve the health of the children. There are many challenges in that part of the world and I have the opportunity to provide HOPE to these beautiful children.

My husband and I have three wonderful children, three special in-laws, and six precious grand-children. We live in suburban Chicago and attend Lombard Christian Reformed Church. As a professional consultant, I travel around the country speaking/teaching on Finding Joy on the Journey: Living with Dementia.
